A characterization about James Hoff

Destroy All Cars, a novel by Blake Nelson written in the year 2009, is about a young teenager who hates all the people driving polluting cars.

The story plays in the 21^st century in the USA. In the following, I will characterize the main character from the book by Blake Nelson.

James Hoff is a 17 years young protagonist and lives in the USA. At the moment he goes to the high school and lives a normal teenage life. He has shoulder slightly greasy black long hair and “black” eyes. He does not behave very conspicuously at school and does no have many friends, because he is not interested in most people.

This typical teenage life includes problems such as that he does not get rid of his ex- girlfriend.

On the one hand side, he still loves her, but on the other hand side, he is with other girls and starts to make new experiences. (page: 89, line 23)

James wants people to stop polluting the environment. E.g. they can drive cars if they are more environmentally friendly.

So James is a nice boy who has a strong self-esteem. He knows exactly what he wants and stands up for that.
